Lady Ice Softball - Parent Information
Parent/Player Commitments
- Player is expected to be available 1-2 times per week for practice. When the weather gets cold the schedule will change and we will move practice indoors.
- During the cold months there are usually 2 practices per week. Dates and times to be decided by team managers and coaches.
- In addition to the practices we are asking that the girls participate in some kind of exercise program to build endurance.
- Be available for up to 8 tournament weekends between late May and the end of July. Every attempt will be made to determine the schedule as early as possible.
- Stay with the Lady Ice program for the duration of the playing year. (September through August)
- During the school softball season (i.e. Modified, JV, Varsity) you will still be expected to practice with the Lady Ice when you are available.
- Pay a per season fee.
- The main purpose of the money is for uniforms, indoor facility rental and player insurance.
- All players must be paid in full by December to be assured a playing spot on the team being replaced.
- No refunds will be issued after January 1st due to all uniforms, helmets and equipment bags having been ordered.
- Pay for travel and living costs associated with tournament play
- Estimate 2 nights in a hotel per out of town tournament, travel and meal costs for 2 days
- Participate in fundraiser's during the fall and spring. The number of fundraiser's will be determined by the success of the events. These will be arranged by the managers of each team.
- Mandatory sponsorship of $100 for the playing year. each player will be required to capture $100 worth of sponsorship donations from the community. It can be a business or family donation. In order for the sponsor to be printed on the banner, it must be a donation of $50 or more. The banner will be hung at each and every tournament. Please remember your sponsor donations will not be counted as part of your fee.
- Players must have their own equipment for practices (i.e. glove, practice clothes, cleats or indoor shoes).
Special Notes To Parents
- Every attempt will be made to get your daughter competitive playing time. However there my be times when your daughter may not play in all situations. this will be especially true during tournament play.
- Parents and non-players are asked to not interfere with the coaching during practices and during game/scrimmage situations.
- Parents are also asked to keep clear of the bench area during practices and game/scrimmages to allow the coaches/assistants to work most efficiently.
