ASA Class "B" Eastern Region Nationals

The Lady Ice 12-U team won the ASA Class "B" Eastern Region Nationals over the July 24-26 weekend. The weather was a challenge all weekend with heavy rains starting Thursday evening shortly after opening ceremonies delaying the start of games on Friday and returning late Friday afternoon canceling the remaining games.

On Friday the girls first game of the tournament was delayed until 1:30 because of Thursdays rain. Their next game at 6 pm was cancelled while the girls were on their way back to the fields to warm up because of heavy rains. The rain was heavy enough to cancel all remaining games.

On Saturday games were delayed until 10 am and shortened to 1 hour or 5 innings because of Fridays rainstorm. During the day the rain returned a couple of times but never hard enough to interrupt game play. The Lady Ice played their first game of the day at 10 am and played their last game of the day under lights winning 4 straight games.

On Sunday games were started early and kept at 1 hour or 5 innings. The Lady Ice won the final game of the winners bracket and moved on to the Championship game undefeated. At 1 pm the Lady Ice beat the Classy Lassie Lightning in the championship game to become the ASA Class "B" Eastern Region National champions.

During the tournament the Lady Ice 12-U won 7 straight games giving up only 5 runs.
